2012 Kidding Schedule
- About Our Goats:
We test our older goats for CAE using the c-Elisa method and have done random CL testing.
Colorado is a TB & Brucellosis free state.
We dam raise and wean between 8-9 weeks of age. We do not allow our kids to
leave our farm until they are 9-12 weeks old. Stress can kill and believe
it’s best to wait 5-7 days after weaning before transporting.
Smaller kids could require more time. Larger kids along with a
group of goats need less time before they can leave to their new
homes.
Transfer of Registration Certificates to your name is buyer's
responsibility.
- Payment:
Payment in full is expected for goats on the For Sale page. We
do accept PayPal with a 4% additional fee. Please contact us
before paying via PayPal.
If payment is not received within 5 days, your hold on the animal is
released.
For payment on reserved/unborn kids - please read the Reservation section
above.
- Cancellations:
No refunds (You do not pay for reserved kids till after they are
born). You can transfer your payment to another available goat.
If the animal dies while at our farm, you will receive a 100% refund or you
can transfer your payment to another available goat.
- Goat Work-Up:
Before leaving kids will have both CD&T shots, trimmed hooves, probiotics,
selenium/E, wormed, tattooed (if applicable) and dehorned.
We have never had a case of Coccidiosis and do not pre-treat for Coccidiosis.
- Pick-Up/Travel:
- No goat will leave our farm if it is ill
- We are not responsible for your goat’s health once the goat leaves
our property
- The risk of loss and/or sickness transfers to the new owner once the
animal leaves our farm
- A health certificate, vet check, and any additional
requested blood workup is at buyers expense
- If you have any doubts, we encourage you get a full veterinary
examination at buyer's expense
Kids are expected to
be picked up at 9-12 weeks of age. Kids not picked up within that
time frame will be charged a boarding fee of $2/day unless previous
arrangements were made. Your balance
due must be zero before your kid(s) can leave our farm. Payment
method for balance due is cash.
Owner Pickup Method – we prefer this
method because no one will care for your goat better than you.
Plane Method – we have used Delta,
Frontier, Continental, and United Airlines in
the past with great success. Your costs
are crate/goat, Health Certificate/goat, $24 for tolls,
and $60 for gas/time. It is the buyer's responsibility to make sure the
kid(s) have the needed vaccines/shots/exam for their state. We
fly out of Denver or Colorado Springs. If flying out of
Colorado Springs, there is no toll and gas charge. We ask that
the buyer make the plane arrangements because it is a time consuming task.
Hauler Pickup Method – our least favorite method and not always cost effective. We prefer
to have health certificates issued as close to the departure time as possible.
Please provide us with your hauler information as soon as possible so that we
can coordinate with them.
It is the buyer's responsibility to make sure the
kid(s) have the needed vaccines/shots/exam for their state.
